Colin Charvis

Rugby legend Colin joined the Sparkle Appeal as a Patron in 2009.  Colin is a world renowned rugby player earning 94 caps for Wales and caps for the British and Irish Lions.  His patronage, enthusiasm and support to the charity has been invaluable to our success.

 

 

Jenny McLoughlin

Jenny McLoughlin runs for UK Athletics as a Paralympic sprinter in the 100m and 200m (T37 classification). Highlights of Jenny's career to date have included being selected to run for the Great Britain Paralympic Team at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics, and in 2010 competing for Team Wales and achieving a Silver Medal at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi. In New Zealand in January 2011, Jenny won a Bronze Medal in the 4x100m Relays and made the finals in the 100m and 200m at the Paralympic World Championships. Jenny was selected to represent Great Britain in the World Junior Championships in Dubai in April and achieved Gold medals in the 100 and 200m. Jenny is currently in full time training for next year's Paralympic Games in London and also a first year student at Cardiff University studying Philosophy and Politics.

Dan Lydiate

Dan from the Gwent Dragons is one of the up and coming future stars of Welsh Rugby and he joined as an Ambassador in 2009.  Dan became involved via the charities links with the Gwent Dragons and our Patron Colin Charvis.

 

 

 Gary Lockett 

 Gary Lockett is a retired professional boxer from Cwmbran.  His first professional fight was in 1996 were he defeated Ernie Loveridge by KO. Gary has an excellent record racking up 30 wins out of his 32 professional bouts, 21 by KO. Lockett won the WBU middleweight title in March 2006. Gary became a Sparkle Appeal ambassador in early 2009 a year after retiring from professional boxing and is now a personal trainer for Elite Fitness Ltd.

 

Richard Fussell

Richard Fussell

Richard Fussell  is a professional rugby player and former team mate of our Patron Colin Charvis.  During his time at the Newport Gwent Dragons Fussell scored 120 points in 82 professional appearances spanning 5 years. Fussell has represented Wales at under 17`s, 18`s and 19`s and has just signed a contract with the Ospreys. Richard became a Sparkle Appeal ambassador in 2009 along with former team mates Dan Lydiate and Colin Charvis.
 

 

 

Jamie Baulch 

Jamie Baulch is a successful British sprint athlete. Jamie has won 400m gold at the 1999 World indoor Championships and silver and bronze in 1997 and 2003. Jamie has also won silver with the British 4 x 400m relay team at the 1996 Olympic games and gold at the 1997 World Championships. You could say Jamie has an impressive track record. Jamie retired in 2005 but went on to become a speed coach the Bradford bulls Super league team. Jamie became a Sparkle Appeal Patron in 2009.
